LaMB review

HI ALL! The LaMB movie was telecasted for the last time on Animax yesterday. Here are my views about it.

STORY
The story of the movie had been highly compressed and was not at all elaborated. The first half was stretched a lot. It was only about how Jack comes to Cerra and in terms with Eve. It doesn't convey much except for Jack's past. He doesn't even get to know the real truth abot lamination.

As far as the second part is concerned, its even shorter! There simply is a conference about Jack's progress of making the planet green, Sara's past and a fight between Eve 1135 and laminated Keiko. The latter did not relly convey anything much. It was not shown why did the two fight. Pretty brief, huh? Then in the end, Sara and Jack come together and the planet has turned green.

Nothing was shown about theor fight against lamination, nothing was known about the other characters-Keiko Suzuki and Rita Golberg. In fact, Keiko was shown against lamination, then why did the two fight against eacch other? And what about her revenge against Sara?
The story did not relly answer any of these questions. The solution to this would have been to make the movie a little longer.

ANIMATION
This was something that was relly looked forward to in the movie. But it was really not very precise. Even though the robots were well-aniamted, the humans and LaMBs' animation could be worked upon. All in all, the animation could hav ebeen better.

MUSIC
The music was something that really was good, irrepective of the other lackings. Not only 'Summertime' and 'I Can Wait Forever', but even the background music, the opening and the ending were good. I wouldn't mind if they bring out a soundtrack CD of it!

CONCLUSION
The movie lacked in several phases which could be worked upon, but if expanded a little, it will turn out to be a good movie. The music should be kept and animation should be made more elaborate.

A Message from Cerra

LaMB is a futuristic love story set on planet Cerra. As the govt. on the planet, Central Administration Bureau of Cerra (CABC), faces one of its worst challenges-greenery. Cerra is a harsh world and so the govt. needs to plant strong oxygen producing vegetation. Cerra in a way corresponds with the planet Mars in the solar system- red and sandy.

We can relate this problem of Cerra to our own needs at the moment-which is also the environment. The vegetation on our own planet Earth is steeply diminishing and we need increase afforestation and reforestation rates.

So, in a way, LaMB can be related to our own society. And therefore LaMB gives us the leson of waking now.

Well, the LaMB T.V. trailer-cum-advertisement finally aired on Animax. It was well made and covers the importants points of the story. All the stars were named, and everything else was covered well.

I really wonder when the results for the blogging contest be announced. Even the movie premiere is coming close! So, don't miss watching, airing exclusively on Animax on March 24!

True love or False hope?

HI all!
When Jack came to Cerra, he was mourning his wife's death. He came to Cerra in the first place, just to forget about his wife and consequently indulged himself in work. He got mixed with the lamination politics and then he met Eve...a LaMB.

Since he came to Cerra in grief for his beloved wife, is it justified to say that he truly loved but still fell in love with Eve?

Think about it. Can a man fall in true love with two people at the same time? Or is it, that Jack's love for one of the two was simply false? Under the moon's light, false and short. Or does it mean that Jack was able to succeed in forgetting his wife? Whatever it is, I am just too excited about it, and I hope their love succeeds! ^_^

How old is Jack and how young is Eve?

HI all!

The Cerra planet is 25 light years away from earth. Man has reached half the speed of light to travel. That means that it will take about 50 years for man to reach to Cerra.

When Jack entered Cerra, he was mourning for his wife's death. She must have died back on earth. So, when Jack reached Cerra, he was over 50 years of age. Also, since he was all ready a widower, he must be really old.

While on the other hand, Eve on Cerra has not yet married (according to the synopsis). So what is the age gap between the two? Also, Eve's hair in the pictures are white, which I suppose is simply white hair colour. considering the fact that many anime characters have colourful hair.

But the point is that Eve and Jack definitely have a great age difference unless if Eve has not married till late in her life and Jack was widowed much earlier.

That is one solution to the problem. ^_^

Eve's Life. Jack's Death. Survival of Love.

Hi Everyone!

In LaMB, Eve has been convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 200 years of lamination. Around that time, Jack enters Cerra mourning his wife's death. He gets involved in the lamination politics and ends up falling in love with Eve. Isn't that interesting, but pretty impractical. If Eve is laminated for 200 years, then by the time her sentence is completed, won't Jack die? After all, even he is human and will die someday. And after 200 years, what will happen to Eve? During her term, even if her outer beauty will penetrate, wouldn't she age otherwise? And after de-lamination, will that same beauty exist and Eve will age like normal people from that age, or from old age? Anyways, Jack will still die, no matter what.

So, how will their love survive? What will happen to it? Unless, of course, Jack is able to go against CABC and lamination is abolished. Consequently, all LaMBs are de-laminated. But will still the society accept Eve? Also, all the criminals will be given justice anyways. So, Eve will still be imprisoned. And maybe then death penalty will replace lamination and Eve is hanged.

And now we come back to the same question. How does their love survive? If Jack really loves Eve, he should be ready for sacrifice. One solution I see is that Jack could commit a crime which would get him laminated and free him when Eve is released. Then it might work out.

I wonder, is there any hope for them? Maybe. Maybe not. (I hope there is. So much of waiting should not end in a tragic ending! :) !)

I wish to see the movie ASAP. Thats probably the only way to answer the questions.

TOPIC:-Choose a side. Are you for or against lamination?MY VIEWS:-Life and
death is a natural process and lamination is breaking that cycle. By
laminating
people, they are living for more years than they should. This is
against
environmental laws which should be checked.Besides, Lamination was
introduced to
protect the environment and recycle the prisoners. But by
lamination prisoners,
we are breaking their natural survival process that is
eating et cetera. Isn't
that against the laws of the environment?Also,
Prisons and jails consume a lot
of money and lamination was made to save the
government's money but even
lamination will also take up money because it is
a very hi-tech system it must
be taking up much more money. That is why I
would say that it is not a very nice
way of punishment.And there are still
many more factors which support my
thoughts.Lamination can be dangerous to
the LaMBs because the shocks they will
be given on not abiding by the laws
of being a LaMb can kill them before their
term is over.

Male LaMBs are called Adam+serial no. and the female ones are called Eve+serial no. Then even my code name wud be Eve+something! :) ! But not for a long time definately.

TOPIC:-If you were given access to a LaMB, what tasks would you have it perform for you?

MY VIEWS:-If I were given access to a LaMB it would be really fantastic. I could make it do all sorts of things. On my order, it would:-
Clean the roads, footpaths and parks in my town.
Clean the rivers that flow through the city and are now basically dead.
Clean my room.

TOPIC:- Lamination is considered a form of recycling by the Central Administration Bureau of Cerra (CABC). If you worked for the CABC what other policies would you implement to preserve the environment?
MY VIEWS:- Cerra is aplanet which is facing harsh environmental problems. If I were living on planet Cerra, and working for CABC, the tasks I would implement for the protection of the environment are:-1. Make some groups of the LaMBs carry aforestation on the barren land.2. I would order a certain number of shepherds to make their LaMBs clean the water-bodies.3. I would order some other shepherds to make their LaMBs clean the roads and then decompse the bio-degradable waste.

TOPIC:-In LaMB, the process of Lamination was first invented to preserve youth and beauty until it evolved into a form of imprisonment. Would you commit a crime to stay young and beautiful?
MY VIEWS:-Lamination is a process where somebody is put in a suit or laminated. This is done to criminals and they can stay young and beautiful for about 500 years. But that means that their face nerves are constrained and they can’t speak and touch other people until asked to fo so. And that is the reason than even if somebody pays me $2 Billion to commit a crime on Cerra and be laminated, I would refuse. What’s the point of staying young and pretty if you are not free. If your outer beauty can’t be seen by others, even if you are a god-at-heart kind of a person, what’s the point. Besides, once you have committed a crime, you are no more a good-at-heart person.
